“Our longstanding partnership with Bank of America is making a positive impact for our vulnerable community members,” said Poverello House CEO Zachary Darrah. “Rapid Rehousing will be an important tool in our efforts to help end homelessness. We deeply appreciate the bank’s continued trust in the work we do at Poverello House.”

Bank of America Fresno and Visalia president Mark Riley said improving economic mobility for low- and moderate-income households is a key part of the bank’s overall philanthropic approach. “Partnering with impactful local organizations to address the important needs the Central Valley is experiencing is part of our commitment to creating real change in the region,” Riley said.

Other recipients in the region include Community Services Employment Training (CSET), Family Services of Tulare County, the Visalia Emergency Aid Council and Salt + Light (all serving Tulare County), Kings Community Action Organization and the Madera Rescue Mission.

This first round of grants the bank will award this year builds on the $3.6 million Bank of America has provided to area organizations since 2019 and are part of its longstanding commitment to supporting economic opportunity for diverse communities, according to a news release. In addition, employee volunteerism continues to be an important contribution to local nonprofits, with employees in the five-county region logging more than 45,000 volunteer hours since 2019.
