It is unclear if drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the crash, as he was wearing a helmet.

(FOX40.COM) — A 19-year-old Oakdale resident died on Saturday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle in rural Stanislaus County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 2:30 p.m., officers arrived at the intersection of SR-132 and Crabtree Road where they found the teen and his motorcycle on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The crash occurred near the community of Robert’s Ferry, about 22 miles east of Modesto. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers determined through their investigation that the teen was riding eastbound on SR-132 when he attempted to turn left onto Crabtree Road and did not negotiate the turn.

The motorcycle continued northeast, leaving the roadway, and colliding with a barbed wire fence. The teen was ejected from the bike and landed not far from the fence.

It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the crash, but he was wearing a helmet.
