20+ restaurants closed in Fresno, Clovis in 2025. Is your favorite on the list?
An especially high number of chains closed this year, along with some longtime mom-and-pops. Over two dozen restaurants in Fresno and Clovis in 2025 were closed, with many due to decreased spending, rising minimum wage, rent and energy costs. Restaurants such as KFC, Popeyes, Arby's, and KFC all closed due to these factors. Local favorites such as Javier's, Maria's Tacos, George's Shish Kebob and Noodle Q also lost their places. However, Fresno welcomed 35 new restaurants in 2025 and many have already been replaced with new ones. The most recent restaurant closed was Five Guys Burgers and Fries at the Marketplace at El Paseo.
