The U.S. National Weather Services said snow is becoming more prominent in the Sierra Nevada and surrounding foothills on Thursday afternoon. Oakhurst with 2300 ft of snow and Mariposa with 2100 ft.

The California Highway Patrol urges residents to stay at home because the roads covered in the snow make it “extremely dangerous”. If they need to go out, CHP encourages residents to keep tire chains in their vehicles and warm clothing.
