The USGS described the earthquakes as "light to moderate" and the depth of the earthquakes was about five miles. No damages have been reported, but California's Office of Emergency Services is coordinating with first responders to assess any damages or injuries. The last earthquake near Lake Almanor occurred on Feb. 7.

(FOX40.COM) — Two earthquakes hit Northern California on Thursday afternoon and some in the Sacramento region may have felt the effects.
Around 6:30 p.m., the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that earthquakes of 4.5 and 4.9 magnitudes hit the area of Plumas County in the city of Belden, which is about 37 miles northeast of Chico.
For context, Belden is about 160 miles north of Sacramento.
According to FOX40 meteorologist Adam Epstein, the earthquakes are classified as “light to moderate.” The USGS adds that the depth of the earthquakes was about five miles.
The last earthquake reported near Lake Almanor was on Feb. 7. In May 2023, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake also occurred, but was under the surface of Lake Almanor.
No damages have been reported, but California’s Office of Emergency Services said it is coordinating with first responders to assess for any damages or injuries.
