The improvements will be made using public education and law enforcement partnerships to enforce safer driving. Since 2020, at least 18 people have died in crashes on the Fresno County Roadway. The corridor will span just over a mile from near Millert Lake to Winchell Cove Road. California Secretary of Transportation Toks Omishakin suggested improvements could include improving the shoulder of the roadway and improving lighting. However, these changes are just part of the plan.
