Naindeep Singh says now-cleared DUI controversy was exacerbated by 'false rumors’
“The bottom line: the truth is stronger than any lie, and integrity will outlast any politics,” Naindeep Singh said. Fresno City Council candidate Naindeep Singh Chann has spoken out after being cleared of any wrongdoing following a DUI arrest over the weekend. Singh, who is running against Robert Fuentes to represent District 1, tested negative for drugs on the night of his arrest. Despite receiving apologies from Fresno Police Chief Mindy Casto and Mayor Jerry Dyer, Singh believes the incident was exacerbated by false rumors and misleading allegations. The police department has confirmed that the blood test results cleared Singh of any criminal wrongdoing. Despite the arrest, Casto maintains that the arresting officer had probable cause to make the arrest due to Singh failing six out of eight indicator tests for possible impairment.
