Despite law enforcement’s efforts to pull over the vehicle, the driver, identified as one of the teens, refused to stop. A brief pursuit ensued, but officers decided to disengage due to the unsafe driving behavior exhibited by the teenager.
The situation took a tragic turn when officers lost visual contact with the Hyundai after spotting its taillight from a distance. Eight minutes later, around 7:40 PM, law enforcement received reports of the traffic collision at Fulton and Van Ness.
The Fresno Police Department reports that one of the teens had allegedly disregarded a red light, leading to the collision. The teenagers were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
