FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – For those children who would like to learn more about wildlife and nature, -including how to run a zoo, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo will be hosting a summer camp beginning in June.

Officials with the Zoo say the camp fosters an appreciation and understanding of wildlife and nature for all ages through animal interactions and observations, games, arts and crafts, and other activities.

According to officials, the Summer ZooCamp will offer a variety of camps for different ages, including a Cub Camp for children ages three to five years old, a half-day camp for children in kindergarten to fifth grade, and a full-day camp for kindergarten to fifth grade.

Officials say campers will learn about what it takes to run a Zoo, how the wonder of the natural world has inspired mythology through history, the so-called “gross” adaptations and behaviors that animals have, or the more athletic abilities of the animal kingdom.

During the five-day camp, campers will also enjoy daily zoo tours, animal visits, crafts, and games.

The Summer ZooCamp starts June 10. For more information, click here.
